Christos Pappas has a degree in Chemistry from EKPA and his doctoral thesis was prepared at the Agricultural University of Athens with the subject of the spectroscopic study of components of the kenaf plant (Hibiscus cannabinus L.). From 1985 to 2012 he worked as a teacher in Secondary Education. From 2001-2007 as a specialist scientist at the General Chemistry Laboratory of the Agricultural University of Athens and from 2012 as a faculty member at the same Laboratory. From 2022 he is a professor. He has more than 75 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, and more than 45 presentations at international conferences. He has participated in over 20 research projects. His research activity is focused on the analysis of natural products, foods and micro-organisms by chromatographic methods, identification of their components by spectroscopic methods and study of their biological action as well as the development of chemometric models for the authentication of foods and micro-organisms.
